Songs, and stories, and music, Oh my! During this week long class, we’ll explore how music and song can further the purpose of storytelling. By focusing on one specific, well known fairytale, students will have the opportunity to hear how different kinds of music tell us important information like character, mood, and setting. They’ll then have the opportunity to put that knowledge to good use by presenting that fairytale with music that they learned and showcasing how a good song can help enhance the storytelling process. This course will be of interest to young artists interested in both broadway musicals and contemporary plays that incorporate music.
