SCENE STUDY(AGES 13 – 17)

A scene is like a good mystery; learn how to analyze clues, ask the right questions, and delve deep into what’s actually going on under the text. Students will learn the essential steps and process to approaching any scene or monologue, even an entire play. Collaborate with others to discover the beating hearts of characters in order to bring them to life.

August 8 – 11

Musical Theatre (AGES 9 – 15)

During this busy week students will learn how to warm up their voices, choreograph small dance numbers and learn how to string songs together into a mashup of musical theatre hits. The class will culminate in an in-house performance for parents of two to three musical theatre numbers. Student will also explore acting exercises to find the story of the songs they sing. N experience required – students don’t need to read music.

August 14 – 18

DRAMA TIME (AGES 5 – 8 + 7 – 10)

Encourage your child to step playfully into their dramatic side. Working with story making, playing with music, movement, artwork and creative drama exercises, students will be warmly encouraged to develop their expressive skills, and confidence. Collaborative group work, dramatic expression in movement and voice, creating simple costumes and props will all be part of this wonderful creative week. At the end of the week; there will be a sharing of some of the exercises, activities and stories they have worked on.
